Well, it’s the first day of October, which means… Crock-Pot Candy time!!!
This recipe could not be easier (or more kid-friendly.) Char, you loved dumping all the chocolate and nuts into the Crock-Pot. You were Mommy’s little helper and I loved having you on the counter making this recipe with me.
The secret to this recipe is watching the chocolate. Once the chocolate is fully melted, start dropping it onto wax paper.
The possibilities are endless with this concoction! Next time, I plan on adding mini Reese’s pieces, for a little peanut butter surprise, but the point is BE CREATIVE! Try it Mommy’s way, then experiment with your favorite nuts & flavors. Okay – enough gabbing, let’s get started!
2 pound vanilla candy coating or white almond bark
4 ounces German chocolate bar
12 ounce bag semisweet chocolate chips
12 ounces dry roasted peanuts
12 ounces honey roasted peanuts
1 – 1.5 cups pecans
Scoop of peanut butter (optional)
Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Let cook on low for 1 hour without disturbing the ingredients. After an hour, stir to combine everything. Continue cooking on low, checking in 15 minute intervals. Once the chocolate is completely melted and all nuts are covered, drop spoonfuls of candy onto wax paper. Allow to cool completely.
